Frequently Asked Questions

Here you'll find answers to the most common questions from teachers, support staff, and schools working with CalledToTeach Ltd. If you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to contact us directly.

1. How do I register as a teacher or support staff member?

You can register online via our registration form. We'll ask for your CV, proof of qualifications, two references, and an up-to-date Enhanced DBS check. Once submitted, one of our consultants will contact you to arrange an interview and compliance check.

2. Do I need a DBS check before applying?

Yes. All candidates working in schools are required to have an Enhanced DBS check. If you don't have one, we can guide you through the application process and submit it on your behalf.

3. What areas do you cover?

We recruit for schools across Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, and the wider East Midlands region. We work with primary, secondary, SEND, and independent schools.

4. What types of roles do you offer?

We provide short-term supply, long-term placements, and permanent positions for:

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS and NQT/ECT)
  • Teaching Assistants
  • Cover Supervisors
  • SEND Specialists
  • Support Staff roles

5. How do you match teachers to schools?

We consider your subject specialism, preferred location, availability, and school preferences. Our consultants personally liaise with schools to ensure the best possible match for both parties.

6. Do you offer CPD or training?

Yes. We provide regular CPD workshops on topics such as safeguarding, classroom management, and SEND support, helping our candidates stay up to date with best practices in education.

7. How quickly can I start work after registering?

This depends on your compliance checks. Once your DBS and references are cleared, you could start receiving placement offers within days.
